Counselling and Psychotherapy

Therapeutic approach

I work collaboratively with adults, children and young people by offering support in processing trauma, grief and loss; and support in managing depression and anxiety. I also work with parents and caregivers offering support sessions. Observations at school and within the home can be organised to better support your child and inform the support given to parents/caregivers. I believe that building a therapeutic relationship with my clients is central to our work. As well as talk therapy, I offer expressive therapies that allow for processing and expression non-verbally through the use of clay and drawing.

Why use Expressive Arts therapy?

Play and Art are a child’s natural language of expression. When we rely on talk therapy, we ask a child to enter the adult world. Clay Field Therapy and drawing therapy are used to support children to communicate through play and art.

Art therapy and Play therapy provide an opportunity for children to express themselves without relying on the use of words. Expressive therapies provide a unique opportunity to separate “the problem” from ourselves and discover, explore and create solutions.
